Backup and restore The L700e library, configured with tape drives and tape media, provides backup and recovery for larger distributed, Open Systems, UNIX and Windows NT environments. Backup and restore can be consolidated from multiple smaller systems to reduce costs and simplify management.
Disaster recovery The L700e library is an integral part of disaster recovery processes that remotely vault data in tape form. Tapes can be physically transported to a remote site, created electronically with an L700e library at the remote location, or created simultaneously at both locations.
Fixed content distribution The L700e library can act as a high-volume source for fixed content data, especially when outfitted with fast-access T9840 tape drives. High-speed fixed content distribution systems can utilize the L700e library in a disk-and-tape storage environment controlled by Application Storage Manager™ (ASM) software to reduce costs without impacting performance.
Archiving The L700e library is an efficient, high-capacity repository for archival data. It can be combined with disk systems and StorageTek Application Storage Manager (ASM) software to provide a tiered archival system with performance and capacity customized to the archiving needs of the application.
