Bar-coded number
A unique bar-coded volume/serial (VOLSER) number identifies the tape for the host computer, which then indexes stored files to VOLSER numbers.

Pre-initialization option
StorageTek can pre-initialize tape cartridges for accelerated integration into your storage solution.
