TheWB.com blurb on Dawson's "Show Me Love" and Young Americans
Posted by Liz

From "TheWB.com":

THE LONGEST DAY

A possible end and a definite beginning - a culmination of events on Dawson's Creek, and an introduction to the new summer show Young Americans.

In the May 3rd episode of Dawson’s Creek, "The Longest Day", the kids on the creek return to what they do best: emotions, friendship, conflict and most of all angst - and well verbalized angst at that. The tension between Joey and Pacey come to a head when they finally decide they can’t continue to hide their relationship from Dawson.

In this Go-esque episode, one day evolves into a multi-sided story, reaffirming the truth and reality of everything that is Dawson’s Creek. The story unfurls as it’s seen through different eyes, and the truth only comes out once every facet is brought to light. Relationships are tested as the truth comes to light, and no one is left unscathed. Can things ever return to normal after this kind of explosion? The show ends in true gut-wrenching, tearful, raw Capeside style.

Thrown into the mix of this massive upheaval is Will Krudski, Pacey’s childhood chum who has recently returned to the creek only to be captivated by Andie McPhee. Will, played by newcomer Rodney Scott will only be on Dawson’s Creek for a few episodes, but for those of you are already head over heals, don’t worry, he will be attending Rawley Academy this summer on The WB’s new show Young Americans.

Set at an all boys New England prep school, Young Americans follows Will as he makes the transition from "townie" to student, including life with his new roommate Scout and dealing with the distinct line he has decided to cross. Will has pinned all hopes of escaping an abusive father on his scholarship, and he can never go back. Scout is the wealthy, attractive epitome of a prep school boy, with a legacy of family preceding him to Rawley Academy.

Also in the freshman class are Hamilton, the dean’s son, who tends towards the alternative, and Jake, who has been to almost every prep school on the East Coast. These two outsiders quickly become friends, but they have quite a few things to learn about each other, and Jake’s dirty little secret may cause more than a few problems.

Rounding out the story is Bella, the beautiful gas station attendant who has lived in the town all her life. She entrances Scout from their first meeting with her stunning looks and teasing wit, but her father has a very large problem with Rawley boys and makes it known that he doesn’t want any of them near his daughter.

In a world without parental supervision, these teens have to make it through life lessons and rites of passage on their own. All of the new students at Rawley Academy have a lot to learn, but they couldn’t find a more beautiful place to study.
