Posted by Liz From the June/July issue of "Teen People": (Page 53): RODNEY SCOTT You'd think that the last thing a barely known actor would do is go into a meeting with producers for a buzzed-about new WB series and demand the juiciest part. Yet, boasting little more than a 'Promised Land' guest spot, that's exactly what Rodney Scott did -- and landed the lead in the 'Dawson's Creek' crossover, 'Young Americans'. "I said, 'I don't want to be wasting my time. I love this show and I want it,'" remembers Rodney, 22, who plays Will Krudski, a headstrong teen from the wrong side of the tracks. And where there's a Will, there's a way: "I took this 'Give-me-the-role-now' attitude -- that's Will. That locked it up." 'Creek' fans met Will in the latter part of the season when the former Capesider returned to visit old pal Pacey. Now the Young American is off for new adventures at a New England boarding school. Back in Rodney's hometown of Ocean City, Maryland friends couldn't be happier. Says Rodney, "All my friends call and say, 'I need an autograph....from James Van Der Beek.'"
