Posted by Liz Thanks to Mandy for sending this in! From TheWB.com:
Making His Mark
A renaissance man in his own right, Mark Famiglietti isn't just another pretty face - he has brains to back up the looks.
Mark Famiglietti: Art imitates life in a sense. The character I play is from Greenwich, which is ultimately where I want to live. He's an overacheiever, I was also an overachiever when I was in high school. We had corporate sponsors for our prom. I wrote to Snapple that we were having an alcohol free prom and they sponsored it. TheWB: How do you feel about your decision to leave college and move to LA? MF: It was fine, I went to NYU with the intent of being able to leave before graduation. My plan was to audition on the side, and if I was good enough to get a job I could be successful at it...I'm lucky it worked out. TheWB: Do you think you'll ever finish? MF: No, I have a lot of interests and going back isn't one of them. I still take acting classes which was mostly what I was doing there. TheWB: Tell me something I should know about Scout Calhoun? MF: He's described in first script as a JFK Jr. type, he's rich but not hung up on it. He's kind of a romantic, he rides around with a girl on his handlebars. TheWB: How have you gotten along with the other cast member so far? MF: It's so bizarre, I've never worked with a cast that's so tight. Everyone is really different, but come Friday night everyone is together, everyone is included. It almost seems to good to be true. TheWB: What do you do in your free time? MF: I keep fairly busy. I have a couple screen plays optioned, and we have a ghost writer on one of them. My other big project is, well, I was reading George magazine and they had a list of actors and entertainers and their charities, I got the idea to form a website (www.artistcharity.org) and got it incorporated in the state of CA, actors and entertainers donate their products (headshots, posters, etc.) and the money goes to their charities. Eventually I'm going to go to venture capitalists and corporations to get donations to do commercials. TheWB: What are your screenplays about? MF: One of them is a 20 something update of Annie Hall, the other one is sort of a dark Varsity Blues. We took all the fun characters from the bible and put them in high school. TheWB: What, if anything, do you feel is missing from your life? MF: The Red Sox! I'm in Baltimore. Seriously, it's hard to not be happy right now. I guess I would say security, we have 8 episodes, are we going to make more? TheWB: What would you like to be able to say about your life fifty years from now? MF: I know I'm going to say something cliche. I'd like to think that I covered a lot of areas, but I think I'm the only actor that doesn't want to direct. I'd like to be able to say that I was a working actor, a decent writer and that I lived life to the fullest. Copyright 2000 The WB Television Network
