Posted by Liz From "WBZL.com":
Q: To Kate: You are a rarity, as an actual teen actress portraying a teen. How do you balance your own high school studies and keep up with your acting career?
A: (From Kate) It's very important to me as well. I've been on the high honor roll my entire life so I think I'd be very disappointed in myself if I dropped off now. So to keep up that education as well as work 12 hours a day is a huge, huge challenge. But I think it's teaching me a lot for life as well. Life's overwhelming. You've got to take it as it comes. Q: What advice would you give to aspiring teen actors on pursuing their dream?
A: (From Kate) Anything is possible for anyone. I just fell into it in a very fluky way. I think that if anyone wants something badly enough they'll get it. Q: Are the characters of Dawson's Creek going to crossover to Young Americans or vice versa? A: (From Rodney) There is a great opportunity for it, and a more than strong possibility. Its very, very possible. You have to wait and see. Q: Is this show going to be funnier or more serious than Dawson's Creek? A: (From Rodney) It's more serious in the aspect that a lot of it is dealing with more real-life issues that are facing kids today. And also, in some of those real-life issues, I think you have a lot of humor. I think you're going to get a little bit of both, actually. Q. Who was your favorite person to work with on Dawson's Creek? A. (From Rodney) Hands down its gotta be Josh (Jackson). Not only is he a really good actor, he really helped me just get comfortable with the whole thing. He gave me a lot of advice about what to expect on this show and if (Young Americans) takes off like their show did. Q. Do you play pranks on the set? What was an example of those pranks?
A. (Rodney) When we filmed the pilot we were all in the same motel and I would order food service at 4 a.m.... tons and tons of food. I'd put it on my bill in my room, but had them go and knock on (cast members') doors, knowing that they had to get up in an hour. Q: How realistically do you think Young Americans and Dawson's Creek portray the New England area? A: (Mark) Well I think. I think there's a lot of small, quaint towns that are dying to be explored and we explore one of them. And you know, there's trees everywhere and it looks the same visually. And, we uncover a lot of things that are looking to be uncovered... you know, small, quaint New England towns that we all hope to go on for summer vacations.
