Posted by Liz Thanks to Mandy for sending this to me, since it ended up getting lost in my great computer crash... AOL Live presented a chat with the entire cast of 'Young Americans.' See what they had to say below.
Scroll down to read the full transcript... AOLiveMC2: Welcome, 'Young Americans.' It is a pleasure to have you here this evening. Cast of YA: Thanks for everybody's support for the show and hope they enjoyed it and continue to watch it. AOLiveMC2: Let's get right to the questions. Question: What's the best aspect of the show, in your opinion? Rodney Scott: It's more original than any other show, and I think it deals with real issues -- that a lot of people can relate to the show and learn from the experiences of the actors on the show. Mark Famiglietti: Every character is put [in circumstances] rather than "I don't like her because she doesn't doesn't like me." Question: How old are all y'all? And are you single 'guys'? Mark Famiglietti: Speaking for all the guys on the show, we are all single and we are all young, not too old -- ballpark 20. Question: Do Scout and Bella know they are related? Mark Famiglietti: Yeah, they know they are related. Question: Scout, you get in character and think "This is weird that I'm kissing someone related to me." Isn't this incest, or you just do it 'cause it's a role and move on? Cast of YA: You do it because it's a role and you move on. You don't think of it as someone being unpure or awful. Question: What was the toughest part of acting on this show so far? Rodney Scott: For me, the toughest part so far is working for three months without having a show on the air. You don't know how the people are gonna react, and you get kinda anxious because you're acting -- and having been acting -- and you don't know the outcome of the show. You don't know if you are gonna do more than these first eight episodes, and you are acting and hoping that the show continues for more than just these eight. Mark Famiglietti: Working from 5AM to 8PM every day and consistently doing good work and getting focus. Question: Are there gonna be a lot of twists in the show? Rodney Scott: I think there are a lot of twists that come with the show, some good, some bad. I think the audience is gonna be very excited each week to see the next show. Question: Where do the clothes the guys are outfitted in come from? Cast of YA: They come from the costume department. Question: How did the cast get picked for the show? AOLiveMC2: We are now chatting with Kate Bosworth and Ian Somerhalder. Kate Bosworth: We had to all audition and go through the entire process, from the casting director to the studio to the network. Question: Is this show coming on every week? Ian Somerhalder: Yes, every Wednesday, and repeating on the following Friday. Question: I can tell you guys, from the chat earlier, people are really lovin' the show. What do u guys think of it? OnlineHost: We're talking with the cast from the new TV show 'Young Americans.' Our guests include Rodney Scott (Will), Mark Famiglietti (Scout), Kate Bosworth (Bella), Ian Somerhalder (Hamilton) and Katherine Moennig (Jake). Ian Somerhalder: We are very supportive of each other. It took so long for this to happen, we really hope people will enjoy this. Question: For Bella: What made you want to take the role? Kate Bosworth: Well, I loved the character. She is a strong character, a young woman very self-sufficient, able to take care of herself, and the love story between her and Scout is very intriguing. Question: This an OK show.. but why is that girl acting like a man? Ian Somerhalder: The reason why Jake is -- acts the way she does is, like she stated in the pilot, she doesn't get the attention from any of her family members, and that is difficult for any 15-year-old to feel. Question: How will the plot with Bella and Scout develop? Cast of YA: They have to reestablish their relationship because of friendship, but it is really hard because they really love. It is really hard on them. Question: Do you guys get along outside of shooting? Do you hang out a lot or kind of go in your own directions once the camera stops? Cast of YA: We are a big family. We are so close. Question: On the set of 'Young Americans,' were there any real sparks between the cast? Cast of YA: We are all so close to each other, we are all really great friends. Question: This is for the girl who plays Bella. Is Scout a good kisser? Kate Bosworth: Yes, he is a very good kisser. Question: Did you guys learn how to row beforehand, because your form isn't bad! Ian Somerhalder: Yes, we had a crew instructor. A very tough, world crew instructor. Question: Do you think you are somewhat like your character? Cast of YA: We [are] all sort of like our characters. There is a piece of us in all of our characters. Question: Who performed this version of 'Somewhere Over the Rainbow'? Cast of YA: That is a really great question They did a really great job. We are running down the hall to ask the producers. AOLiveMC2: We will take another question in the meantime. Cast of YA: We think they did an awesome job, so we want to let you know. Question: What do you want to happen out of this TV show? Cast of YA: Go to the next question and we will find out the answer. More episodes. Future episodes, more happy people. More positive people. Question: Where was the show filmed? Cast of YA: Baltimore, Maryland. Question: How early do you guys have to get up for a workday, and when do you usually end? Cast of YA: Between 5 and 6AM, and we end after an average 12-hour day. Question: Did making ''Young Americans' remind you guys of stuff you did when you were younger? Kate Bosworth: Yeah, I am still in high school, my senior year, so it is really fun. Question: What is the best part of seeing yourself on a soon-to-be-hit TV show? Kate Bosworth: I don't even know what to say to that. It is the pure excitement, knowing you will be out there and your face and name a household name. Ian Somerhalder: I agree with Kate. AOLiveMC2: We are just about out of time, so here is the last question. Question: Do you think there is a lot of competition with the 'Creek' kids? Cast of YA: We are all in the network, and I think we are all trying to do the best. We all try together and do the best that we can. AOLiveMC2: Thank you, 'Young Americans,' for joining us this evening. Cast of YA: Keep watching -- it will only keep getting better and better. Thanks for all your support and wonderful questions, and hope you keep watching. AOLiveMC2: For more about 'Young Americans,' be sure to visit keyword YOUNG AMERICANS on AOL.
