Siebel 7.7 Java 2 Upgrade

The following website provides links and instructions on how to install the Java 2 upgrade.
 

All Siebel 7.7 users must have Java 2 Run Time Environment, SE v1.4.2_08 installed on their PC.  Users that are not on Java 2 will need to upgrade for Siebel 7.7 to work properly.  To upgrade to Java 2:
 

1.  Click on the following link to open the Java 2 zip file: http://gandalf.stortek.com/IS/Siebel/JRE2.ZIP.

 

2.  From the File Download pop up box click Open which will open the WinZip window.  If this box does not appear for you skip this step and go on to Step 3.      

 

3.  From the WinZip window click Extract.

 

4.  From the Extract dialog box select the folder you want to save the executable file to (preferably the My Documents folder) and click Extract again.  This will save the executable file to the selected folder. 

 

5.  Next, go to the selected folder and double click on the file j2re-1_4_2_08-windows-i586-p.exe, this will launch the InstallShield Wizard.  Follow the Wizard instructions to complete the installation.

• When walking through the wizard you'll see several screens asking the user to choose various options, these screens have been defaulted to the appropriate options.  Click Next through each screen until you reach the end.  At the last screen click Finish to close the wizard.
