The StorageTek Foundation is a nonprofit organization created
in 1991 to support the company’s philosophy that its
welfare, and the welfare of the communities where it operates,
are mutually dependent. The company brings this philosophy
to life by contributing a portion of its income to nonprofit
organizations. The Foundation accepts hundreds of proposals
annually and rewards grants to those meeting its proposal
guidelines.
The Foundation is dedicated to improving individual’s
lives through a commitment to:
- Education - Assist students in developing the skills
in math, science, engineering, and computer literacy through
grants and donations to universities, high schools, student
groups, and education opportunity programs.
- Health and human services - Contribute dollars
and volunteer hours to organizations serving the underprivileged
in the areas of health care, housing and survival services.
- Arts and culture - Support a variety of community
arts and culture programs as well as arts in education.
Specifically, the Foundation gives back to the community
through grants, in-kind donations, and three matching gifts
programs:
- Community support campaign - provides StorageTek
employees with a way to contribute to any non-profit organization
of their choice. StorageTek matches every employee contribution
50 cents to the dollar. This program is conducted in conjunction
with the United Way and Partnership for Colorado.
- Matching gifts to education - encourages employees
to contribute to the educational institutions of their choice.
StorageTek matches employee donations at 100 percent, up
to $2,000 per employee per year to eligible recipients.
- VIP.COM (Volunteers in Partnership) - encourages
and recognizes employees who volunteer their personal time
to nonprofit agencies by contributing dollars to the program.
Since 1991, the StorageTek Foundation has contributed more
than $10 million throughout the global community. StorageTek
employees donate thousands of volunteer hours each year to
the many causes important to them. In-kind donations include
equipment and/or services to educational and other nonprofit
organizations.
StorageTek is committed to making a positive difference in
the communities where our employees live, work and play. |
